COMPETENCY MODEL OF EDUCATION
The Institute for Learning has established a competency-based form of education.
There are Goals and Competencies for each of the three Certificate Programs:
Foundations
Church Leadership
Certified Lay Minister Program.
You may choose to meet the competencies by taking the 12 prescribed courses, or there are other ways to meet them such as transfer of credit from another institution, or receiving a waiver by showing a portfolio of educational activities or life experience. Any participant wishing to transfer credit or receive a waiver should make an appointment with the Dean, who will conduct an in-depth interview, review the materials, and make a recommendation to the Governing Board.
The competencies for each level are listed in the Handbook. (see Downloadable Documents)
