LEVEL ONE: FOUNDATIONS in CHRISTIANITY
Eligibility
All are invited to take Level One courses, which provide basic biblical and theological skills that are helpful for any church member or ANYONE interested in learning more about Christianity. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Requirements for earning a Certificate in Foundations
Completion of six courses or their equivalent:
IFL101 Spiritual Formation
IFL102 Bible
IFL103 Theology
IFL104 Church History
IFL105 American Baptist Churches
IFL 106 On Being Church
Acceptance of Transfer Credit
Enrollees in Level One may bring in four of the 6 required courses
from another accredited institution. Two courses must be taken for
credit through IFL in order to earn the Certificate in Foundations.
Completing Foundations courses is a requirement of any
specialized course of study in Levels Two and Three.
This is a competency-based program so there are different ways to meet the requirements of the six courses. To explore alternatives, contact the Dean of the Institute for Learning.

Graduation
Upon satisfactorily completing the six required courses, the graduate is awarded a Certificate in Foundations at the Annual
Meeting of the ABC V/NH.
GOAL and PURPOSE OF LEVEL ONE
Upon successful completion of Level One, each participant will have given evidence of being a Christian growing in faith and practice, and a vibrant member of a faith community. Those applying to Levels Two and Three must show how they have met or are meeting the requirements of Level One.
